how to doodle a frog.
seven lines, one big grin, no eraser. here's a frog you can draw with a black pen, one step at a time.
step by step
-

one bumpy shape. start at the top and go all the way round in one line: a round body with two bumps on top. the bumps are the eyes.
-

two little feet. two flat ovals tucked under the body, a little apart.
-

eyes. a dot in each bump. put one a little lower and the frog starts to look like it's thinking.
-

the grin. one wide curve, almost from side to side. wider is happier.
-

a tongue. a small bump inside the grin. done. that's a frog.
what makes it look like a frog
- the eye bumps do all the work. without them it's a potato. with them it's a frog, even before it has a face.
- wobbly is good. a shaky line looks alive. a perfect circle looks like a sticker someone else made.
- go big on the mouth. a frog is mostly grin. if the grin reaches the edges, nobody will mistake it for a cat.
- draw it once and keep it. the first try is the funny one. fixing it only makes it tidier, never better.

send your frog to someone
in wiggle together you draw it in black pen, fold it into a paper plane and throw it to a moon you share with one friend. they color it in, and every line keeps wiggling, like the frogs on this page.
