how to doodle a cat.
eight lines, and no circles or guidelines to start from. this cat has melted flat by the fire, which makes it the easiest cat there is.
step by step
-

one long, flat shape. start with a round bump on the right for the head, then let the body melt off to the left, low and lazy, and close it underneath.
-

two ears. two small triangles on top of the bump. now it's a cat, whatever else happens.
-

the tail. a short curl standing up at the far end. it's the only part still awake.
-

shut eyes. two little curves, side by side. closed eyes say it's warm and it isn't moving.
-

whiskers. two short lines off the side of the face. done. that's a cat, and a rug.
what makes it look like a cat
- the ears do the work. two triangles on any round shape and people see a cat.
- round head, lazy body. keep the head a tidy bump and let the rest flop. the flop is the personality.
- shut eyes look happy. a cat with its eyes closed is a cat that's exactly where it wants to be.
- whiskers last, and short. long ones turn it into a walrus.

send your cat to someone
in wiggle together you draw it in black pen, fold it into a paper plane and throw it to a moon you share with one friend. they color it in, and every line keeps wiggling, like the cats on this page.
